January
The Buena High School "Studio Jazz Band" from Ventura will preform for us on January 18th. Their band, under the direction of James Rumenapp consists of 4 saxes, 3 trombones, 2 trumpets and a rhythm section of piano, bass, guitar, and vibes. They will be playing some great dance tunes for us and have also been asked to play "Parasol Parade" music as the last tune of their set.
We currently have booked for April, the Cabrillo Middle School Jazz Band from Ventura, under the direction of Mario Boccali. Speaking of youth bands (college age), how about our feature band for last month, The Jazz Police! They were FANTASTIC! Please come out to enjoy the
youth bands and help us help them "KEEP JAZZ ALIVE".

February
Focus on Youth
Wow! What a group of entertainers at our January 18th dance! Buena High School Jazz Band was so great and energetic that 8 of the students sat in with our regular Jammers. Their music director, James Rumenapp, had to break out his Trombone and join the fun! With such great instruction, there’s no wonder his students love jazz. The group sounded like these young musicians will certainly ‘Keep Jazz Alive’.
We have more terri?c school Jazz Bands coming up! Omard High School, under the direction of Fundi LeJohn, and Cabrillo Middle School, under the direction of Mario Boccali—STAY TUNED! We look forward to having these Jazz musicians and we are proud to see that we at CCJ C are doing our part through our mission to “Keep Jazz Alive”.
We’ll see you Sunday, February 15, 2015 for a continuation of some great Jazz and dancing! Bring a friend to enjoy the excellent musicians who entertain us Jazz lovers.
